Merging/Sorting Conveyors

Merging/Sorting conveyors are routing conveyor systems designed to merge product flows coming from multiple production lines into a single line (merge) or divide the existing flow in a controlled manner to different directions (sort). Thanks to sensor-based control structure and various routing technologies, they ensure products move in the correct sequence, at the correct intervals, and in the intended direction. They are particularly useful for regulating flow in high-speed packaging and palletizing lines.

Flow Management and Line Features

Merging/Sorting conveyors have a controlled flow structure that dynamically manages line tempo. Through acceleration and deceleration zones and sensor-supported product detection, product gapping and alignment are maintained. This structure supports the organization of products from multiple lines into a single flow without collision and queuing, or their distribution to correct outputs.

Merging multiple lines into a single flow (merge)

Controlled distribution of products to different directions (sort)

Sensor-based flow and sequence control

Product gapping and alignment management

ARB™, pneumatic pusher or speed difference routing options

Compatible structure with packaged products of different sizes and shapes

Applications

Merging / Sorting conveyors are used in processes where there are multiple product flows or products need to be directed to different lines.

Merging lines after flowpack and shrink packaging

Product feeding to cartoning and boxing machines

Checkweigher, metal detector and X-Ray discharge lines

Product arrangement and sorting areas before palletizing

Transfer of parallel production lines to main line
